SEDUCED
By Phyllis B. Lawrence

Blown
in on the tail of a January blizzard
a catalog of a hundred gay glossy pages
rich, brilliant colors, so much for so few dollars.
lyrical lillies; fuzzy pussy willows
velvet petalled roses; pansies a comedy of posies
lilacs, lobelia, gladiola
forsythia, clematis, gallardia
for that shady place, foliage of blended greens
some sturdy as oaks; some delicate as lace
Feasting on this buffet of blossoms,
salivating, I heard the sirens sing
Mindless that the plot is only six feet by nine
Yearned to order one of each to fill the breach between winter
and spring.
Neglecting hum-drum chores for just awhile
spring held sway on a windy winter day.
Hope was in the air, visions of beauty everywhere.
The Glory of Love

Open
the door realize a life youve never known before
So
much glory oh but so much more
The
day begins bright, the night silent, with no fight
Stars
glow with peace and love
All
of this is the Glory of Love
