September 2002 - Volume 1, Issue 8

I was just given a copy of Canon Beat today. Vol.1, Iss. 7. Normally I don't read things like
this. Today’s News and Events just find me upset in the way they are presented. This paper though was given to me for the article you wrote 'Paradise by the Light of a Glowing Box'

I remember typing 4+ pages of code to make a ball bounce across the screen of a
Commodore 64. The first edition of Oregon Trail and Chem. Lab is where I spent a lot of my time. I bought my first "real" computer when I was a soldier in the US Army. Since then 'The Glowing Box' as I have always called my computer or just 'Box' for short, has been my major hobby.

I learned HTML DHTML on my own. I had helped the Utah Decca Webmaster program the State Decca page. My man interests is art, hand drawn art mostly pencil and ink drawings. I had done charactachers at my High School after Prom party.

They had even paid me for that which was a shock to me. Yet since the Computer I had taken my artwork to a new level with the Digital coloring and enhancements. I work off of my imagination and photographs. I have also been composing a collection of my poetry.

I am submitting three for your monthly Guide. I just wanted to say that I enjoyed your article and that I am glad others have noticed how important and fun the computer and internet is becoming. There is a plethora of information out there. Most of the people are really friendly and helpful. Just want to say Thanks for the article.

I enjoyed reading The Canon Beat and like the premise.

My wife and I moved here about 6 months ago from Boulder CO. Seeing a hip paper on arts and entertainment in this area was a lost cause, or so I thought. Keep up the good work.

Thanks!

The CanonBeat Web site looks great. I read Issue #2 -- it makes me want to move out there and live in Canon City!

Hello,
I represent Canon City Main St. USA Events and Promotions Committee. Thank you for providing our community with an entertainment guide. We look forward to working with you on future events.

The Cañon Beat was a much needed publication in Fremont County and I'm thrilled to see it. It is very well done and I wish you every success with it.

Thank you for providing Fremont County with such a great means of putting together announcements for all arts/entertainment events. There is so much going on here and all too few people know about it. This will help tremendously.

I would like to congratulate Kenneth, Mary, Andrew and Renee for the outstanding thought put forth for this much needed means of communication in Fremont County and surrounding locations.

There are many talented and crafty personnel within our boundaries that need the exposure, plus the fact that many, many people in our community appreciate the fact that they can merely look into the publication and know what and where along with when to hit the streets for a good wholesome time.

Thanks, Cañon Beat. We need you.

Your guys on the staff of Cañon Beat are doing a great job! What wonderful press for Canon City, such a happenin' town.

I love your Web site. I have been looking forward to the grand opening for such a long time. The stories are great and the photography advice is wonderful, and Mary, what a great picture.

I've even seen your publication here in Westcliffe at Karen's - that's great to know you have Custer County distribution, too! I've continued to hear from others about the Cañon Beat.
