The Cañon Beat is published in the interest of informing the local residents and visitors to the area of the many arts and entertainment events that are scheduled for Cañon City, Florence and Penrose and the outlying areas of Westcliffe, Cripple Creek, Victor and Guffey.

It is a free publication distributed on the first of each month to locations in high-traffic retail locations, which include restaurants, taverns, motels, coffeeshops, rafting companies, tourist attractions, bike shops, galleries, entertainment spots and other public places.
